I have a passion for people. It’s a need for me, rather than a want. It compels me towards portraiture. I crave the space we can share with other people from vastly different backgrounds. Whether our separation is geographical, economical or spiritual, we all share similar needs, wants and desires. Human connection is important for my understanding of the world around me and I want to share that with everyone.
Somewhere in that space, I work to capture portraits that convey a story about my subjects that engages viewers. If I can get people to pause for a brief moment and identify with someone else, I feel my work has been successful.
I’m currently working on a long-term personal project celebrating artists and creators. People who chase creative endeavors do so with no promise of reward but are compelled to share their art, their soul and by default their emotions with others. My project seeks writers, musicians, painters, chefs, inventors, makers and innovators. The list goes on. The purpose is to collaborate with creators to fashion an iconic portrait that will be part of societies legacy. My large format prints use the Platunim/Palladium process which adds a grandeur on the level of painting and sculpture.
If you or someone you know is a creator, I’d like to discuss how we can collaborate on this project together.
